I’m guessing it may just be one provider putting out some false-hoods in an attempt to get more business himself. It boils down to market share and customer service. The one provider causing the “stir” has been known to talk bad about his competition in an effort to build himself up. Not a good business model in my view.

The inspection industry in Texas is fraught with shady dealings, shady persons, and shady leadership if you want to call it leadership. That attitude trickles down to the way the shady people deal with the consumers. Until the shady activity in Texas is stopped, or at least significantly curtailed, then the inspection industry will always be looked down on and treated as such. The problem is the ones responsible for stopping it are doing nothing more than promoting the shady activity! Everything is BIG in Texas and shady activity is no exception to that.

OK, still a lot of readers but not many commenters. I believe that if a person ‘takes up a cause’ and tries to persuade a large group of interested parties, i.e. Texas inspectors, then to do so anonymously is shady, perhaps even unethical, especially when they have a monetary, vested interest in the outcome.

Marketing, marketing on the insurance guy’s part. Problem is that most of the attendees won’t link the prior shady connections with that insurance representative. They are getting a “free” lunch.

No, I have not heard officially if the Commissioners approved Doug’s request to send the letter to the AG. I can’t imagine that they did not approve it. The next TREC meeting is 12/5, maybe an update will be given then. It takes 3-6 months to get an AG reply.

That board has again gone over the edge with some postings. I even tried to post something the other day (I’m not a member of that particular TA) and my post was deleted within minutes. I guess my straight-forward comment about the topic and some involved with it was simply not going to be tolerated. Oh well.

I think the crickets still have the lead in this one … save for some of the leaders posting “atta-boys” to each other at various realtor-focus sites. Certainly have not heard of any (repeat ANY) positive comments from the actual inspector community.
